Unfortunately, our big birthday party had to be canceled, but we have recorded in a nice little notebook what we have tackled in a decade. We participated and our work in one Video presented. The winners were determined in a public voting, in which you catapulted us to the top! We are very happy and will use the prize money to finance one of our work meetings.
2019 marked the 50th anniversary of the gay and lesbian uprising on Christopher Street. This beginning of the movement for LGBT rights was with the Worldpride in New York celebrated. More than a million people were expected to demonstrate in the city of Christopher Street and the UN for the worldwide rights of LGBT people.
AFS USA has not only been involved for many years in the area of diversity , among other things with a PRIDE scholarship, but also ran as a foot group at the Worldpride last year. Numerous AFSers * inside, former participants, full-time employees and volunteers traveled together through the Big Apple and showed how inclusive our organization is.
