Being present and visible
Our association AFS Germany decided to add sexual identity to the German version of the AFS Policy Statement at its delegates' meeting in 2011.
We are present with information stands at many AFS events.
We will gladly send you our information material for your events. This includes postcards, flyers for program participation, flyers for volunteers or our buttons. Just Get in touch .
Educating and raising awareness
We put together a queer game collection compiled, which is used in the areas of further education at all levels in the association. If you would like to know more about which units the collection contains and how they are used, please contact us.
At internal AFS events and for external events, we offer basic workshops to raise awareness of the needs of queer people as well as multiplier training. An overview of the existing workshop concepts can be found here .
Our website as well as our social media channels are an important part of our work, because these outlets make it easy to answer questions about queer topics.
Being approachable and competent
We see ourselves as contact persons for all areas of program work in international student exchanges and voluntary service. We are people of different ages with a wide range of experience.
We feel responsible for questions about gender and sexual diversity and intercultural exchange.
