What We Are Doing

Being present and visible

Our patron association AFS Germany decided to add sexual identity to the German version of the AFS Policy Statement at its delegates' meeting in 2011. (see What Happened So Far)

We are present with information stands at many AFS events.

We'll gladly send you our information material for your events. This includes postcards, flyers for program participation, flyers for volunteers or our buttons. Just Get in touch .

Educating and raising awareness

At internal AFS events and for external events, we offer basic workshops to raise awareness of the needs of queer people as well as multiplier trainings. More information can be found in the overview of our workshop concepts.

We put together a queer game collection which is used for further education at all levels of AFS's work. If you'd like to know more about the contents of the collection and how they are used, please contact us.

Our website as well as our social media channels are an important part of our work, because these outlets make it easy to answer questions about queer topics.

Being approachable and competent

We see ourselves as contact persons for all areas of program work in international student exchanges and voluntary service. We are people of different ages with a wide range of experience.

We feel responsible for questions about gender and sexual diversity and intercultural exchange.
